Solid surface materials are some of the most versatile products in the construction industry. They can be used to create a limitless variety of products, from sinks to handrails, backsplashes, walls, and even chairs. Solid surface training includes an overview of the material and variety of millwork products that can be made with solid surface material; how to work and shape the material with the different tools and tooling; and how to maintain, repair, finish or refinish the solid surface material.
UBC members learn how to create countertops, backsplashes, and edges, and how to incorporate decorative aspects into the material using inlays. Seam creation and placement is addressed, as well as how and when the solid surface material can be used in both the commercial and residential settings. This training meets and exceeds manufacturers requirements. Becoming proficient with the use of solid surface materials is one of the most beneficial skills in the construction industry.
