A good portion of any work day in the construction industry is devoted to the rigging, hoisting, moving and placing of heavy objects. Carpenters, millwrights, pile drivers, and other craftspeople are required to be qualified riggers and, in many cases, hold an accredited certification.
The Carpenters International Training Fund (CITF) offers prerequisite training for Certified Riggers and Signalers (CRS) certification program. The CRS certification program is managed by the Carpenters International Certification Council (CICC).
The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) has accredited the (CRS) certification program, which paves the way for UBC members to work in all jurisdictions, including those that require accreditation. NCCA accreditation provides the UBC with a competitive advantage in the construction industry by raising awareness that jobs completed by CRS certified UBC members will be done safely, efficiently and with the highest level of quality.
CRS certification also helps UBC signatory contractors identify the right people for the job.
