Sisters Celebrate “WIT” Day with 200 Girls

Rebecca McDonald and Meghan Pook, both from Local 93 in Ottawa, had a fun time during the December 2019 WIT (Women in Trades) day.

The first annual Build a Dream Career Expo in Port Elgin offered Ontario Sisters a chance to showcase construction job opportunities for women.

Allowing for an “opt-out” of collective agreements with the Carpenters Union is not something Ontario Sisters and Brothers will take sitting down.

Led and hosted by Carpenters Local 93, Sisters were among the members who helped young women, in grades seven and eight, learn construction skills.
