Thomas J. Flynn

Thomas J. Flynn became a member of the former Carpenters Local Union 67 in Dorchester, Mass., in 1987, and was elected to positions on the local’s executive board, including organizer, business manager, and president. He later served as political director of the New England Regional Council of Carpenters (NERCC) and executive director of the New England Carpenters Labor-Management Program (NECLMP). Flynn was also the regional manager for affiliated local unions in the Boston area. He has been a trustee for the New England Carpenters Combined Benefit Funds and the Boston Carpenters Apprenticeship Fund and has served on the council’s executive board since 2010.

In 2017, Flynn was appointed executive secretary-treasurer of the New England Regional Council of Carpenters, now the North Atlantic States Regional Council.

Before becoming executive secretary-treasurer Flynn served for five years as political director of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, coordinating U.S. legislative initiatives, lobbying, and prominent political campaigns.

Flynn is a native of Dorchester and resides in Milton, Mass., with his family.
