Timed to coincide with National Women in Apprenticeship Day (November 16, 2017), New England Sisters helped launch a statewide ad campaign to encourage more women to enter careers in Union construction.
Titled “Build A Life That Works”, the campaign received funding and support from the Council, as well as the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, IBEW Local 103, Boston Convention Center, Wynn Boston Harbor Casino, and MGM Casino in Springfield.
Coverage of the launch was widespread! Just some of the media coverage is included here in the links below. One billboard featured member Joan Bennett of Local 327. Some speakers at the kickoff press conference included Council Representative Liz Skidmore, Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley, and State Senator Linda Dorcena-Fory.
The “Build A Life That Works” campaign, which is starting with a bang, contains the components for success. Look for updates!
