Local 83 member, Selka Kind, recently spent a day working with ninth-grade female students from Halifax City schools. She showed them how to build a small project, offering instruction and encouragement along the way.
Held at the Carpenter Millwright College (CMC) in Nova Scotia, the goal was to engage young women in Carpentry work and get them to consider skilled trades as a viable and realistic career option. The students really enjoyed the experience.
