The Las Vegas SIB Committee recently participated in a Little Free Library project, which is part of a worldwide effort to encourage kids to “take a book, leave a book.” The project is driven by County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani, District E, in honor of her husband Gary Gray, who was killed in an auto accident earlier in 2015. Sixteen libraries were built, which will be placed in the community and have a long-lasting impact. Local 1977 donated the cost of materials and the JATC assisted with cutting of the project materials. Each library will include a plaque that acknowledges the Local’s involvement and honors Gary Gray.
