Philadelphia was the location of the latest volunteer project of Brothers and Sisters from Local 158. They joined with Iron Workers and Electricians Union members to build a new wheelchair lift and ramp for Cianni Thornton, a 7-year-old girl with cerebral palsy.
Cianni cannot walk or talk and is cared for by her grandmother Charlotte Thornton. So the automated wheelchair lift is critical for Cianni’s care and mobility. These pictures show the diligence of the volunteers, as they work in the dark and daylight to complete this important project.
