Helping with a clothing and book drive was something Connecticut Sisters were thrilled to do. Sponsored by CT Alive, an organization to support domestic violence survivors, the event offered Sisters a chance to help other women. It also provided a chance to discuss career opportunities at the UBC.
SIB chair Ana Cardona talked about these opportunities when she attended a group meeting with event organizers and other women. During the meeting, Ana was able to make a personal connection when she talked about being a domestic violence survivor. She then shared how joining the Union helped her maintain her family and provide them with a better quality of life.
It was a positive experience that allowed for the sharing of a positive message.
