Pre-Apprentices, Apprentices, and Journeywomen recently joined in a meaningful evening discussion as part of the Edison, New Jersey Mentoring Program. The discussion included advice on a wide range of topics:

• Finding work
• Having good work habits – early to work
• Showing up every day
• Just do something
• Porta johns
• Cold & hot weather
• Jobsite issues

Jill Schiff and Abby Adams of Associated Construction Contractors New Jersey spoke about their organization and how they work with the Council to get more work. Heather Brousell, Carpenter Contractor Trust, spoke to the group about her organization as well.

The evening provided an opportunity for the pre-apprentices to network with Sisters and ask questions.
